The Bleeding and Clotting Disorders Institute (BCDI), the only federally recognized bleeding and clotting disorders treatment center of excellence south of Chicago, is actively seeking a full-time (MONDAY - FRIDAY; NO EVENINGS OR WEEKENDS) Pharmacy Technician to our dynamic, medical care team. BCDI Pharmacy is a closed door pharmacy which provides service to patients seen by BCDI providers. The Pharmacy Team is a small, tight knit unit that is a vital part of our comprehensive care model. The BCDI Pharmacy Technician performs many of the technical and clerical tasks associated with the enrollment, preparation, labeling, dispensing and fulfillment of specialty medications. These include but are not limited to:
- Assisting with patient intake
- Patient outreach
- Patient coordination
- Utilization of specialty pharmacy and infusion software
- Inventory management
- Pharmacy insurance billing
- Assisting with patient management
- Utilization of mathematics to calculate patient specific doses

- Salary range: $21.50 - $23.50 per hour, dependent upon experience.
- Added compensation for weekend call pay at approximately $720 per weekend. Weekend call commitment is approximately 12-14 weeks annually. Technician is added to the rotation once fully trained.

- High School Diploma.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Illinois.
- Two years of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital setting preferred.
- Experience with insurance verifications and prior authorization requests preferred.
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
- Sterile compounding training a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in the use of specialized pharmacy software.
- Able to work independently with exceptional attention to detail.
- Customer focused with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be dependable, energetic and highly motivated.
