Description

Responsible to the Grounds/Utility Team Supervisor for performing a variety of tasks to include grounds maintenance; moving furniture, trash, etc., set up/dismantling of campus facilities for events, and preventative maintenance or supervising student workforce on campus. 

  • Maintenance of the college grounds including, but not limited to, mowing grass, edging sidewalks, planting trees, flowers, and shrubs, trimming, watering landscaping plantings, and raking leaves.
  • Pick up trash, and tracks and picks up recycling.
  • Assist with furniture, equipment and office moves in coordination with the Director, Purchasing & Facility Services
  • Remove snow and ice. Spread anti-skid material.
  • Operate truck, tractor, skid loader, forklift, mowers, chainsaw, and edger.
  • Perform on and off campus deliveries, coordinating with Central Stores Coordinator.
  • Responsible for event set-up and dismantling.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school, or equivalent plus, one year of effective experience, including supervisory experience or preventative maintenance experience on landscaping equipment. 
  • Ability to operate truck, tractor, mower, and miscellaneous equipment.
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 pounds, climb and use a ladder. 
  • Shift hours may vary, including evenings, weekends, and college closure periods.
