Position Summary

We are seeking an Associate Director, Private Real Estate to play a key senior role within our investment team. This position focuses on underwriting, due diligence, portfolio construction support, and ongoing monitoring of private real estate investments—primarily through vertically integrated operator funds. This is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to investment decisions, strengthen manager relationships, and help drive execution across a growing platform.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with the Managing Director of Private Real Estate on due diligence across prospective private real estate fund investments, including manager evaluation, strategy assessment, market analysis, risk identification, and synthesizing findings into clear investment recommendations
  • Generate high-quality underwriting and due diligence materials, challenge assumptions where appropriate, and identify areas requiring deeper analysis
  • Build, review, and stress-test financial models for new investment opportunities; perform scenario and sensitivity analyses; and support valuation work for portfolio holdings
  • Monitor existing investments and manager relationships, evaluate portfolio performance relative to underwriting, and surface issues or emerging risks in a timely manner
  • Maintain meaningful relationships with general partners and other LP investors, contributing to manager coverage, sourcing efforts, and pipeline development
  • Prepare and present investment committee materials, investment memoranda, portfolio reviews, and other internal and client-facing materials with a high degree of clarity and professionalism
  • Collaborate across internal teams and provide oversight, guidance, and review of work produced by junior team members on specific deals, projects, and recurring processes
Requirements
  • Strong private real estate investment experience, including underwriting, due diligence, manager evaluation, and portfolio monitoring
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate assumptions and communicate conclusions clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of investment memoranda and presentation materials
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines
  • Sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to successfully pass criminal background / credit check required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, accounting, or related field
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in private real estate investing, real estate investment banking, or a related field
  • Experience evaluating investment opportunities and supporting decisions through detailed analysis and written recommendations
