Description
In this role, you will:
- Ensure cleanliness of restrooms, sinks, showers, toilets, urinals, hoppers, and mirrors
- Clean kitchenettes, lunchrooms, conference rooms, copy rooms, and common areas
- Empty and sanitize trash containers and replenish supplies as needed
- Refill soap, paper towel, and tissue dispensers throughout the facility
- Collect shredded materials from designated areas and place them in appropriate disposal bins
- Dust mop, wet mop, vacuum, and maintain offices, lunchrooms, and select shop areas
- Clean furniture, desks, counters, windows, screens, walls, doorframes, and ledges
- Strip and wax flooring using specialized equipment
- Steam clean carpets and other surfaces as needed
- Monitor completion of janitorial duties for yourself and the custodial team
- Direct and prioritize janitorial assignments based on daily facility needs
- Order and maintain inventories of janitorial supplies and materials
- Ensure work areas are maintained to 5S standards
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and chemical handling guidelines
- Promote company policies, support management decisions, and maintain professional interactions with employees, visitors, and business partners
- Assist with special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience preferred
- Knowledge of proper chemical use, storage, and disposal procedures
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with employees at all levels
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Commitment to safety and maintaining a clean, organized workplace
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading or coordinating custodial teams
- Experience operating floor stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning equipment
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or office environments
- Knowledge of 5S and continuous improvement principles
Your Work Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working Monday through Friday. Employees spend the majority of the workday on their feet and should be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.
