The Planner/Scheduler will analyze, plan, and create job orders to support the customer build schedule. The planner along with the area supervisor work jointly to maintain on time delivery and maintain the integrity and orderliness of all inventory locations within their area of responsibility. The Planner/Scheduler may be required to fill in as backup for other planner positions on an as needed basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordinating and developing production schedules
- Take stock of inventory levels and facilitate providing necessary materials and components
- Plan, schedule, coordinate and/or monitor products through the complete production cycle based on customer orders and delivery requirements
- Work from engineering plans and production specifications to establish production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements
- Read and execute Engineering Change Notices (ECN) designs in a timely manner
- Coordinate production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules
- Make or recommend revisions to planned production schedules as necessary when schedules cannot be met
- Manage shortage report and be the liaison between Operations and Purchasing
- Help automate manual reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
Min. of 1 year of college and 10 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and processes
- Strong background in MRP
- Solid understanding of master scheduling and forecasting processes
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, multiple tabs, pivot tables, linking spreadsheets)
- Willingness to go to shop floor to validate schedule/line items being worked and to better understand processes to incorporate into planning
- Must have experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Must have good communication skills
- Must be multi-task oriented and able to work in a team environment
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is required to use hands repetitively. Intermittently, the employee may be required to lift up to 35 lbs. to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
