General Employment Application for Student/Temporary Worker

Student Workers

The library employs current high school students, aged 16 and above, as shelvers and pages

Those duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Returning books and other items to the correct location.
  • Ensuring that shelving and displays are neat and in proper order.
  • Assisting staff with setting up or breaking down programs and other events.

Students may work between 10-16 hours per week.


Temporary Employees

During the months of June and July, the library may hire temporary employees to assist during the Summer Reading Program.

Those duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting library patrons of all ages with effective use of library facilities and resources.
  • Creating and maintaining patron library accounts.
  • Assisting in the use of library technology.
  • Accurately completing financial transactions.
  • Returning books and other items to the correct location.
  • Maintaining the library's cleanliness and organization.

Temporary employees may work between 10-40 hours per week, depending on availability.

Requirements
  • Be 16 years of age or older.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
