About this Opportunity: 

The Mechanical Inspector is responsible to ensure that the quality requirements set forth from the Quality Supervisor, Customer, and the ISO program are achieved and also conveyed as necessary to the appropriate departments.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Supervisor is workflow of daily inspection with inspectors to ensure the completion of requirements.
  • Perform in-house calibrations of hand-held measuring instruments and maintain calibration system.
  • Plans and carries out projects, selecting approaches and methods used in solving problems. 
  • Conducts preliminary inspections/receiving for compliance with specifications using blue-prints, drawings and prior knowledge of engineering methods to evaluate if deficiencies are present in systems, structures, assemblies or parts.
  • Conducts in process and final inspections at various check points during the construction, removal, disassembly, repair, assembly and installation of structures, systems and associated components/equipment to eliminate hold-ups, rework, and ensure specification conformance of critical installations.
  • Interprets technical specifications, directives and relevant publications to identify discrepancies and deficiencies. 
  • Conducts audits, submitting reports and recommendations. 
  • Other projects as assigned.


Requirements

Must have working knowledge in the use of inspection/test equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, optical comparator, gage blocks, ring and plug gages.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints for inspection requirements including the understanding of and ability to measure geometric tolerance features. 

  • GED/High school education required. MS Office, Excel, and Word 
  • One (1) to five (5) years’ direct experience in a quality related position.
