We are seeking a personable and detail-oriented Personal & Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for clients seeking assistance with their personal insurance policies. Your responsibilities will include providing exceptional customer support, handling inquiries, and assisting clients with policy management. The Personal & Commercial Lines CSR will provide prompt and efficient in service to clients who need assistance. Be instrumental in binding new accounts and assist with the retention of existing clients. The Personal & Commercial Lines CSR will become familiar with the company guidelines and underwriting procedures for several companies. 

Requirements

  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat regarding personal insurance policies
  • Responsible for commercial and personal account manager handling day to day service, renewal, claims support and coverage question.
  • Assist clients with policy changes, claims processing, and billing questions
  • Conduct outbound calling to follow up on client needs or promote additional services when appropriate
  • Enter and update client information accurately within our data management systems
  • Provide detailed explanations of policy coverage options and recommend suitable solutions based on client needs
  • Maintain excellent phone etiquette and communication skills to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Handle all rating, new business, policy changes, cancellations on each company website.
  • Complete applications, questionnaires, issue binders, identification cards, and requests for proof of property insurance.
  • Invoice the transactions that are received from all carriers.
  • Stay current on all daily reports from each company.
  • Check all company produced documents for accuracy, communicate with and secure corrections if needed from companies.
  • Process all payments received or called in.
  • Handle all daily mail and activity list.
  • Scan and attach all documents to the appropriate client.
  • Document all conversations with clients and/or carriers.
  • Perform all duties as assigned by supervisor/agency management.

Qualifications

  • Must have a NYS Property and Casualty licenses
  • Proven experience in customer service, and client support.
  • Strong communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal articulation
  • Must have a general knowledge of insurance terminology, procedures, computer and office equipment skills.
  • Willingness to help customers and co-workers, ability to generate new business, add coverage, make suggestions and improve efficiency in the office, and an attitude that welcomes professional improvement and challenges.
  • Knowledge of insurance products or sales experience is required.
  • Excellent analysis skills to assess client needs and provide appropriate solutions
  • Strong phone etiquette and professionalism in all interactions
  • Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Looking for a team player who is a self- starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Must have excellent organization skills and be detailed oriented.
  • This position has opportunity for commission in addition to their salary.
  • This is a full-time position performed in a regular office work environment and will routinely use standard office equipment.      Travel may be required.

Salary Description
$20-$25/hr
