As a Teller I, you will serve on the front lines of the bank, assisting customers with a variety of financial products and services while ensuring accurate and efficient transaction processing. This role requires strong attention to detail, operational knowledge, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. You will promote bank products and services through referrals and cross-selling, while contributing to a positive team environment and supporting branch operations.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries, resolving account issues, and ensuring a positive customer experience every interaction.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding needs, offering tailored solutions, and going above and beyond expectations.
  • Handle routine banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and check cashing with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Verify customer identity, detect fraud risks (scams, phishing, red flags), and follow all security and regulatory procedures.
  • Promote bank products and services by identifying opportunities and referring customers to appropriate team members (Personal Banker, Head Teller, etc.).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of bank products, services, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Support daily teller operations, including cash handling, balancing, and transaction processing with accuracy.
  • Assist customers with digital banking, account maintenance (checks, debit cards), and general account support.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as data entry, document uploads, scanning/indexing, and maintaining retail logs.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve branch goals, share knowledge, and foster a positive, supportive work environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability, accountability, and professionalism while contributing to team success and celebrating achievements.
  • Provide a warm, welcoming experience by greeting customers, assisting promptly (in-person, drive-thru, and phone), and expressing appreciation for their business.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
  • High level of professionalism and integrity
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Friendly, courteous, and service-oriented demeanor
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to navigate multiple systems and platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of banking experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Customer service experience
