General Laborer (with Driver’s License)
Description

 The General Laborer plays a vital role in supporting our environmental and construction projects by performing hands-on physical labor, assisting with site setup, and maintaining erosion control measures. This position requires a reliable individual who can safely operate equipment, transport materials between job sites, and ensure our projects remain clean, safe, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Preparation & Installation: Correctly install essential erosion control and construction materials, including silt fences, straw wattles, and blankets.
  • Maintenance & Labor: Perform routine physical labor, site clean-up, and repairs to existing site setups, particularly after weather events.
  • Driving & Logistics: Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials, tools, and crew members to various local job sites.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely use hand/power tools and assist with or learn to operate light machinery (e.g., skid steers, tractors, hydroseeders) as needed.
  • Landscape & Stabilization Support: Assist with hand-seeding, sod installation, and clearing vegetation to stabilize project sites.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site while strictly adhering to OSHA standards and company safety protocols.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean, acceptable driving record (required for driving company vehicles).
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in general labor, construction, landscaping, or outdoor physical work is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
  • Skills: Ability to follow direct instructions, work well as part of a team, and learn basic site maintenance tasks. Experience towing a trailer is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, walk on uneven terrain, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.

Work Environment

  • Frequent exposure to outdoor elements including dust, mud, noise, and varying weather/temperatures.
  • Daily travel to multiple local job sites is required.

Pay: $18-$20/hr DOE
