Position Overview:
The Human Resources Generalist supports the strategic and day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department, helping the organization attract, develop, and retain top talent while ensuring compliance and fostering a positive, safe, and high-performing workplace culture.
This role is responsible for core HR processes including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, training and development, and compliance.
The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource to employees and leaders and continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes, enhance employee engagement, and support organizational growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture rooted in Safety, Efficiency, Adaptability, Reliability, and Service across all levels of the organization.
- Lead recruiting efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding qualified candidates.
- Conduct background checks, employment eligibility verifications, and pre-employment screenings.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data (Paylocity), including new hires, terminations, and status changes.
- Assist with benefits administration, Open Enrollment, and employee leaves of absence.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and exit interviews.
- Support the annual performance review process, compensation adjustments, and incentive programs.
- Advise managers and employees on performance, attendance, and employee relations matters; conduct investigations and support disciplinary actions and terminations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and maintain awareness of HR trends and best practices.
- Identify training needs and coordinate programs that support employee growth and leadership development.
- Support organizational initiatives and continuously improve HR processes and service delivery.
- Enhance employer branding efforts through career fairs, social media, and community partnerships.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 2+ years of progressive HR experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) and HR processes across multiple functional areas.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Additional Requirements:
- Must wear approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required including, but not limited to; steel/composite-toe, slip resistant, work shoes, reflective vest, etc.
- Must be willing to work additional hours as required or requested.
- Available for questions and problem resolution outside of the standard business hours.
- Requires periodic travel to customers, business partners and Company locations.
