Enthusiast Auto Holdings (EAH) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I/II/III to develop innovative aftermarket products for Nissan and Infiniti vehicles. This position will be based at Z1 Motorsports in Carrollton, GA, and is responsible for the complete product development lifecycle for all varieties of automotive aftermarket products, including reverse engineering, CAD design, simulation, prototyping, validation testing, manufacturing release, and continuous product improvement.
Successful candidates will combine strong engineering fundamentals with hands-on automotive experience and a passion for performance vehicles. Engineers at Z1 work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Marketing, and Product Lifecycle teams to bring industry-leading products from concept to market.
This role requires a deep enthusiasm for CAD modeling, hands-on prototyping, and the automotive aftermarket.
Responsibilities:
- Perform feasibility studies on new product ideas and establish development timelines
- Use in-house 3D scanners to reverse engineer the packaging envelope for new products and set up a CAD model environment using PolyWorks and SolidWorks
- Develop component and assembly CAD models in SolidWorks
- Use in-house 3D printers to print components for test fitment and, if applicable, on-vehicle use
- Create complete Bills of Materials for products and sub-assemblies with great attention to detail
- Present design reviews to engineering staff and others to seek design approval
- Use SolidWorks to create manufacturing drawings for components and assemblies
- Create sample validation plans and perform rigorous validation of sample products
- Work with Quality Control to establish quality standards for new products
Required Qualifications:
- Passion for performance vehicles and automotive modification
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, including CAD modeling and drawing creation
- Strong understanding of GD&T and manufacturing processes
- Experience using 3D printing for prototyping and validation
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and general PC usage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Participation in drifting or other motorsports activities
- Experience with 3D scanning, metrology, and reverse engineering
- Experience with SolidWorks Simulation and finite element analysis
- Hands-on experience with welding, metal fabrication, and machining (manual/CNC)
- Knowledge of automotive electronics, wiring, and vehicle integration
