Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long-term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.
Working under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g. carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing etc.). Other responsibilities include routine preventative maintenance to ensure efficient operation of building systems and to prevent deterioration of the physical condition of the buildings. Work schedule may include a condensed work week and a rotational on-call schedule. Travel to all 26 locations required. Company vehicle provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implements building repairs and maintenance as determined by work assignments and open tickets.
- Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools.
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices.
- Performs minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).
- Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, floors, roofs, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood, concrete and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a clean, safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners etc.).
- Graffiti response and removal using a variety of available products and soda blasting.
- Performs system checks and system troubleshooting.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.

- Adhere to and uphold all FMC rules and policies, including the Mission Statement and Patron’s Creed.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Senior Maintenance Technician and VP of Maintenance and Operations.
- A minimum of two years’ work experience in facility maintenance, with experience using common tools and maintenance equipment.
- Completion of courses or certifications typically acquired through a trade or technical school preferred.
- Must be a self-starter with ability and willingness to work on a variety of projects/tasks.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Must consent to a Motor Vehicle Check as you will have use of a company vehicle.
- Must consent to a CORI/SORI and background check.
Full-time position.

Compensation: $22 - $28 per hour
