We are seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee all aspects of building maintenance, grounds operations, environmental safety, and regulatory compliance for our residential care community. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring our Home remains safe, functional, welcoming, and well-maintained.

About Our Machias Home

Located on Maine's scenic Downeast coast, our Machias Home provides high-quality residential care services in a close-knit, mission-driven environment. What You'll Do

As Facilities Manager, you will:

  • Lead and oversee all maintenance department operations 
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, VA, OSHA, NFPA, and life-safety regulations 
  • Maintain building systems including boilers, HVAC, fire alarm systems, emergency generators, and other critical infrastructure 
  • Direct preventive maintenance programs and inspections 
  • Manage grounds maintenance, landscaping, snow removal, and exterior upkeep 
  • Coordinate facility repairs, renovations, and contractor services 
  • Maintain required documentation, safety records, and regulatory reports 
  • Support emergency preparedness and response efforts 
  • Manage company vehicles, maintenance schedules, and related records 
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives throughout the Home 

What We're Looking For


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of experience, education, and/or training in building maintenance and repair 
  • Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, boilers, groundskeeping, and general maintenance 
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and preventive maintenance practices 
  • Valid Maine driver's license in good standing 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a nursing home, healthcare, or long-term care environment 
  • Familiarity with healthcare facility regulations and life-safety requirements

Schedule & Work Environment

This is a full-time leadership position. The Facilities Manager participates in on-call coverage and responds to urgent facility issues as needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
