Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance duties necessary to maintain the physical condition and appearance of multiple properties while utilizing company operating and safety standards. The candidate also ensures that service requests and minor repairs are made correctly and in a timely manner.

Position Type: Full-Time, plus On-Call Hours
Reports to: Lead Commercial Maintenance Technician
Schedule: Day shift; Monday to Friday; On call nights and weekends
The target salary for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including level of experience and expertise and may vary from the amount above. This range does not represent additional compensation benefits such as 401k or insurance coverage.
Role Responsibilities:
- Performs various maintenance functions including minor repairs that do not require the need for a license in the following areas: electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC issues.
- Maintains and monitors equipment and inventory.
- Responsible for snow removal on the properties.
- Responsible for grounds work as directed by Property Manager which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas, and maintaining landscaping beds and other areas. Performs emergency on-call service for after hour maintenance-related issues as required.
- Complete apartment turnovers within three business days
- Responsible for performing high quality painting and finishing work across multiple simultaneous maintenance and renovation projects
- Participate in 24 hour on-call rotation for properties
- Performs assigned preventative maintenance duties and tasks
- Completes special projects as assigned
- Works professionally and cooperatively with all residents, tenants, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
- Enforces and adheres to company policies, rules and regulations
- Participates in training seminars as requested
- Utilizes computer based work order system
- Performs inspections on, and maintains life safety systems including fire extinguishers, generators, fire alarm and sprinkler systems
- Occasionally participates in special projects and other responsibilities at buildings in our portfolio
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of Maintenance experience with preventative maintenance
- Ability to float between our properties for needed coverage and work non-traditional hours
- Basic knowledge of general carpentry
- Experienced at handling emergency and pressure sensitive situations due to complexity and time sensitivity when resolving problems
- Capable of lifting and exerting 50 to 100 lbs. of force occationally, and/or 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly
- State licenses in construction and HVAC preferred
- Electrical and plumbing background preferred
Requirements:
- Must be able to travel between our properties in Back Bay, Dorchester, and Seaport
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have own transportation
- Must be available for weekend on call rotation when needed
- All eligible candidates will be required to complete. Predictive Index assessment.
- As a condition of employment, all candidates must complete a drug screen and background check
- Must be available for two onsite interviews as part of our recruitment process
