Position Overview: This position supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Disability Evaluation System (DES) Support contract as a Operations Research Analyst (Senior). This position leads operations research, data analytics, and analytic reporting for the DES and SCAADL programs. The ORSA monitors data quality across program systems and transforms large, multi-source datasets into decision-quality analysis and process-improvement recommendations for program leadership and senior DoD principals.

Job Type: Full-time/Exempt


Location: On-site, Defense Health Agency, Falls Church, VA


Anticipated Start Date: Upon Contract Award (Estimated August–October 2026)


Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze DES and SCAADL data and reports, performance, quality assurance, and annual, biennial, and triennial reporting, and recommend process improvements.
  • Monitor data quality across all program-related systems, including the VA’s Veterans Tracking Application (VTA).
  • Develop, refine, and generate standing and ad hoc reports using DoD-approved data-analysis software across multiple data sources.
  • Build metrics, models, and analyses that support policy and program decisions; translate findings into clear courses of action.
  • Deliver analytic briefings and written products to program leadership and senior DoD principals.
Requirements

  


  • 8+ years of operations research, quantitative analysis, or data science, preferably in a DoD environment.
  • Strong statistics/modeling skills and proficiency with analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, R, Python, or SAS).
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field. Must be able to pass an ADP/IT II (non-critical sensitive) background investigation; U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in operations research, statistics, data science, or a related field; modeling & simulation credentials.
  • Experience with DoD health or personnel data and large enterprise reporting environments.
