Position Role:

As a Chemicals Industry Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping, expanding, and driving our firm’s presence and strategic impact within the global chemical sector. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned consulting leader with deep industry expertise to operate in a high-growth, collaborative environment.


In this senior leadership role, you will hold dual responsibility for market expansion and high-impact delivery—orchestrating new client acquisition while personally leading high-stakes engagements. You will serve as a trusted advisor to chemical manufacturers, helping them navigate complex industry shifts, optimize operations, and unlock sustainable growth.

  • Deep Industry Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of chemical manufacturing, supply chains, regulatory environments, and market trends (e.g., sustainability, digital transformation).
  • Proven Consulting Track Record: Extensive experience in a top-tier management consulting firm or specialized industry boutique at the Principal or Partner level.
  • Commercial Acumen: A demonstrated ability to originate new business, expand existing accounts, and regularly meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Strategic & Collaborative Mindset: A builder who thrives in a high-growth environment and values a collaborative, team-oriented approach to solving complex problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Leadership & Delivery: Lead and manage complex consulting engagements for Chemical Industry firms
  • Business Development: Drive significant business development initiatives by identifying, cultivating, and securing new client relationships with Chemical manufacturers
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholders within the Chemical Industry ecosystem.
  • Practice Development: Contribute to the growth and development of the firm's Chemical Industry practice by helping to develop new service offerings, methodologies, and thought leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor consulting teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for junior team members.
  • Intellectual Capital Development: Contribute to the firm's knowledge base through the development of white papers, presentations, and participation in industry events.
  • Firm Contribution: Actively participate in firm-building activities, including recruiting, internal initiatives, and strategic planning.
  • Financial Acumen: Manage engagement budgets and ensure profitable delivery of client projects.


Requirements

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of progressive consulting experience, either from Consulting or Service firms, with a strong focus on the Chemical Industry sector.
  • Proven experience across Operational Excellence (e.g., process design, reliability, maintenance, yield improvement)
  • Established network of relationships within the Chemical Industry community (e.g., fund professionals, operating partners, c-suite).
  • Proven success in leading and managing full-cycle consulting projects (from sales/scoping through final delivery and evaluation).
  • Proven track record of managing $1M+ engagements and leading cross-functional teams (including offshore or third-party vendors).
  • Revenue Generation: Proactively identify, qualify, and lead the pursuit of new business opportunities.
  • Practice Leadership: Define and execute the regional or functional growth strategy: aligning market opportunities with the firm's service offerings.

Required Education/Certifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required in Chemicals, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or related fields; MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., P.E., Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt) is highly preferred.

Professional Skills:

  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering high-impact consulting engagements for Chemical Industry clients.
  • Established network of relationships within the Chemical Industry community (e.g., fund professionals, operating partners).
  • Demonstrated success in business development and a strong ability to generate new client opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of the Chemical Industry investment process, value creation levers, and operational best practices within portfolio companies.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Biliterate Spanish is a plus

General Work Environment:  

  • Type of role: Full-Time - Remote  
  • Travel: 80-100%, on-site client location(s) 
  • Hours of work: 8-5pm, depending on client needs 
  • Client environments: may require standing and/or walking for long periods

Compensation: The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At EFESO, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $200.000-$275.000.
