MOR Furniture is one of the largest furniture retailers in the Western United States, operating more than 40 retail locations, multiple distribution centers, and a rapidly growing e-commerce business. As part of our digital transformation strategy, we are investing heavily in Artificial Intelligence, automation, data intelligence, and process optimization to improve customer experience, operational efficiency, and business decision-making.

We are seeking an AI Solutions Manager to lead the practical adoption of AI across our business. This is not a research position. We are looking for someone who can identify business opportunities, design AI-driven solutions, and work with internal teams and external partners to deliver measurable business results.

Position Summary

The AI Solutions Manager will serve as the bridge between business operations and technology. This individual will work closely with leaders across Merchandising, Inventory Planning, Purchasing, E-Commerce, Retail Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, and IT to identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity, automate workflows, enhance decision-making, and generate business value.

The ideal candidate combines strong business process understanding with practical AI knowledge and project leadership skills.

Success in this role will be measured by the business impact generated through AI initiatives rather than by technical output alone.

Key Responsibilities

AI Strategy & Roadmap

•  Develop and maintain MOR’s AI transformation roadmap.

•  Identify high-impact opportunities for AI and automation across the organization.

•  Prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, ROI, and implementation effort.

•  Partner with executive leadership to align AI initiatives with company objectives.

Business Process Transformation

Analyze and improve workflows across:

•  Merchandising

•  Inventory Management

•  Purchasing & Supply Chain

•  Retail Operations

•  E-Commerce

•  Customer Service

•  Marketing

•  Finance & Reporting

Identify repetitive, manual, and decision-intensive processes that can be improved through AI.

AI Agent & Automation Programs

Evaluate, prioritize, and lead implementation of business-focused AI solutions, such as:

Merchandise Intelligence Agent

•  SKU performance analysis

•  Margin analysis

•  Product lifecycle management

•  Vendor scorecards

Inventory Intelligence Agent

•  Replenishment recommendations

•  Aging inventory alerts

•  Overstock and stockout prediction

•  Forecasting support

Purchasing Intelligence Agent

•  Demand forecasting

•  Lead time analysis

•  Vendor performance monitoring

Executive Reporting Agent

•  Automated daily, weekly, and monthly reporting

•  Business performance summaries

•  Executive dashboards and insights

Systems & Data Integration

Partner with IT teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to integrate AI capabilities into:

•  Legacy ERP

•  In-store Sales App

•  Shopify E-Commerce Platform

•  Power BI

•  CRM Systems

•  Customer Service Platforms

•  Marketing Systems

Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with company architecture standards.

AI Governance & Adoption

•  Establish AI best practices and governance standards.

•  Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data governance requirements.

•  Evaluate AI vendors, platforms, and technology partners.

•  Promote AI literacy and adoption across departments.

•  Provide training and change management support.

Project Leadership

•  Manage AI projects from concept through deployment.

•  Define requirements, timelines, success metrics, and stakeholder expectations.

•  Coordinate internal resources and external vendors.

•  Track project performance and business outcomes.

Requirements

Required

Business Experience

5+ years of experience in:

•  Retail

•  E-Commerce

•  Supply Chain

AI & Technology Knowledge

Working knowledge of:

•  Generative AI

•  Large Language Models (LLMs)

•  ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot

•  Prompt and Context Engineering

•  Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)

•  AI Agents and Workflow Automation

•  APIs and System Integrations

Data & Analytics

Preferred Experience with:

•  SQL

•  Power BI or Tableau

•  Data Analysis

•  KPI Development

Project Management

Demonstrated ability to:

•  Lead cross-functional initiatives

•  Manage multiple priorities

•  Deliver measurable business outcomes

Preferred

•  Retail or furniture industry experience

•  Experience with ERP, POS, or merchandising systems

•  Experience implementing AI solutions in a business environment

•  Knowledge of inventory planning, purchasing, merchandising, or supply chain operations

•  Familiarity with Microsoft Azure AI, OpenAI, or Google AI platforms

•  PMP, Agile, Product Management, or AI-related certifications

Key Success Metrics (First 12 Months)

The successful candidate is expected to:

Within 90 Days

•  Complete AI opportunity assessment across major departments

•  Establish company AI roadmap

•  Launch first executive reporting automation initiative

Within 6 Months

•  Deploy at least 2 production AI solutions

•  Implement AI-enhanced reporting capabilities

•  Deliver measurable productivity improvements

Within 12 Months

•  Reduce manual reporting effort by 50%+

•  Improve inventory visibility and decision-making

•  Launch AI capabilities within our Store App and/or Enterprise workflows

•  Demonstrate measurable ROI from AI investments

Salary Description
Base $110,000 to $150,000 annually w/ 10-20% bonus
