Position Summary


We are seeking a Controller to support our CFO and Finance Team in managing the organization’s financial operations. This position oversees the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.


The Controller plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, producing accurate and timely financial statements, and optimizing financial systems. This role supports organizational decision-making and contributes to the overall success of the BHMG team.


Key Responsibilities


As Controller, you will support key financial operations across the organization, ensuring accurate execution of the full accounting cycle while maintaining strong internal controls, reliable reporting, and effective systems that support informed-decision making. 


You will:

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial KPIs and dashboards for executive leadership.
  • Lead financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate external audits and tax return preparation, ensuring all documentation and schedules are accurate and complete.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee payroll operations and ensure accuracy in payroll accounting.
  • Lead the development of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with GAAP.
  • Oversee account reconciliations and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
  • Implement, maintain, and optimize financial systems, reporting tools, and workflows.
  • Promote efficiency, accuracy, and continuous improvement across all financial operations.
  • Utilize advanced Excel and NetSuite capabilities to support reporting, analysis, and decision-support functions.


People Leadership

  • Lead and mentor accounting staff; provide coaching, feedback, and career development guidance. Delegate tasks and oversee work.
  • Facilitate 1:1 meetings and check-ins to maintain alignment, accountability, and performance transparency.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements


Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Typically, 10 or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility. This role is well-suited for individuals ready to take their next step into a Controller position or those early in their tenure as a Controller. 
  • CPA preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and NetSuite
  • Authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship


Desired Skills & Attributes:

  • Deep technical accounting expertise, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and develop the accounting team and oversee all financial operations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and NetSuite, including complex reporting, modeling, and system optimization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment in financial decision-making.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively partnering with the CFO, auditors, and executive leadership.
