The Test Technician at Hyper Solutions is responsible for performing electrical testing activities on power distribution equipment to verify safety, quality, functionality, and compliance with established procedures and standards. This role plays a critical part in supporting manufacturing operations by executing test procedures, documenting results, troubleshooting issues, and helping ensure products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Certification teams, the Test Technician supports production testing, product validation, UL compliance activities, and factory acceptance testing while maintaining a safe and organized test environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform electrical testing of power distribution equipment including switchgear, panelboards, PDUs, and RPPs.
- Execute established test procedures and document results accurately and completely.
- Conduct functional, hi-pot, insulation resistance, grounding, continuity, and load testing.
- Identify, document, and communicate test failures, defects, and nonconformances.
- Assist with troubleshooting electrical and control system issues during testing and production.
- Verify products meet engineering specifications, quality requirements, and customer expectations.
- Operate and maintain electrical test equipment, instrumentation, and tools.
- Support compliance with UL, NEC, IEEE, NEMA, and internal quality standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with factory acceptance testing (FAT) and customer witness testing activities.
- Support UL audits, inspections, and certification efforts.
- Maintain test records, calibration documentation, and equipment logs.
- Provide feedback on test procedures and opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized testing environment.
- Support manufacturing and quality teams in resolving production-related issues.
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 2+ years of experience performing electrical testing, troubleshooting, or assembly of industrial electrical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
- Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, hi-pot testers, power analyzers, and related instrumentation.
- Basic understanding of electrical power distribution systems and control circuits.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accurately document test results and maintain quality records.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience testing switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, PDUs, RPPs, or similar power distribution equipment.
- Familiarity with UL standards and certification processes.
- Experience supporting factory acceptance testing (FAT).
- Knowledge of NEC, NEMA, and electrical safety practices.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and electronic test documentation.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Compensation
The anticipated minimum hiring range for this role is $60,000 - $70,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, and location. This hire will be eligible for discretionary bonus or incentive compensation. Variable compensation may depend on various factors, such as individual and organizational performance.
