Card Network Ops Specialist III
Description

The Card Network Operations Specialist owns the day-to-day operational health, integrity, and scalability of debit card programs by proactively partnering with card networks (Visa and/or Mastercard), Banking as a Service (BaaS) partners, processors, and internal stakeholders.


This role serves as a primary operational point of contact and escalation owner for card network activities, ensuring transactions flow reliably, issues are identified early, risks are mitigated, and network and regulatory requirements are consistently met. The Specialist is expected to anticipate operational challenges, drive resolution through to completion, and continuously improve card network processes to support safe growth. 


Card Network Operations Specialist III

• All responsibilities from Card Network Operations Specialist I, II and: 

• Lead investigation and resolution of complex or higher-risk card network issues, including BaaS-related matters.

• Interpret and apply Visa and/or Mastercard rules, regulatory guidance, and processor requirements to non-standard scenarios.

• Assess operational, compliance, or settlement risk and escalate appropriately with proposed mitigation steps.

• Proactively partner with BaaS programs and processors to ensure card programs operate reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual and network expectations.

• Identify trends, recurring issues, and emerging risks, escalating concerns appropriately and recommending practical, preventive operational improvements.

• Perform secondary quality reviews and validation activities as assigned.

• Support audits, exams, and internal reviews by producing documentation, analysis, and explanations.

• Contribute to onboarding, peer training, and knowledge sharing through process walkthroughs and guidance.

• Provide feedback on procedure clarifications, control enhancements, or documentation improvements.

• Serve as a go-to resource for less experienced specialists.

• Regularly communicate with both internal and external partners with minimal supervision.


Requirements


  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience handling complex card network issues or escalations.
  • Ability to independently interpret Visa and/or Mastercard rules and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility

Travel Requirement 

This position requires some travel to support business needs, including team collaboration, internal trainings, and cross-functional initiatives. The frequency and duration of travel will vary based on organizational priorities and team needs.

The base salary for this role is listed below. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. The base salary may vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, experience, and geographic location. Full-time employees are also eligible for a competitive bonus and benefits package.

$37,664 - $66,462 per year
