Trading Card Mechanic
Description

Mittera is looking for a Trading Card Mechanic to join our growing team! The Trading Card Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing production equipment used in the manufacturing, printing, packaging, and processing of trading cards. This role ensures production machinery operates safely and efficiently to meet quality and output standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on printing presses, cutting machines, laminators, collators, packaging equipment, and other production machinery. 
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues. 
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify wear, damage, or potential equipment failures. 
  • Calibrate machinery to ensure precise card cutting, printing alignment, packaging, and quality standards. 
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime. 
  • Install, test, and commission new machinery and production equipment. 
  • Maintain maintenance logs, repair records, and inventory of spare parts. 
  • Work closely with production, quality assurance, and operations teams to improve equipment performance. 
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. 
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • All other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification or vocational training preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing equipment repair, or a related field. 
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic equipment. 
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with printing, packaging, or card production equipment. 
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience. 
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.


Physical Requirements

  • Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending
  • Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, and coordination
  • Requires near visual acuity
  • Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
  • Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances

  • Full-time position with some flexibility required for urgent projects

  • May involve exposure to machinery noise and heated equipment
