This position is in-office M-F at our East Point locations and must be available to work weekend and flexible hours, as needed  

Who We Are: 

The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from.  Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers.  We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. 

About the Role: 


Warehouse Associates are responsible for receiving, picking, order fulfillment, and lift truck operation. They must provide effective and safe operation of all warehouse equipment, as well as maintain a clean, safe work environment. Warehouse Associates contribute additional work as deemed necessary and appropriate by Food Bank management.  

What You’ll Do: 

Order Fulfillment & Dock Operations:  

  • Stages agency orders accurately and efficiently in the fulfillment dock area for pickup. 
  • Assists partner agencies with loading their vehicles in a safe and organized manner. 
  • Verifies that staged and loaded orders match order documentation to ensure accuracy. 
  • Uses the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to pick, locate, and record product movement. 
  • Follows First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures and reports any inventory discrepancies or product damage. 

Safety & Warehouse Standards:  

  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized dock and storage areas free of debris and hazards. 
  • Adheres to all food safety and warehouse safety guidelines. 
  • Ensure proper storage temperatures and records as required. 
  • Inspects and safely operates warehouse equipment, using all required PPE. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.

  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments 
  • Must have good oral and written communications skills 
  • Ability to operate standup and sit-down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks

  • Employee is routinely required to lift and transport heavy items to waist level, up to 75 lbs.

  • This position would normally have routine opportunities to alter physical position or change eye focus. Frequently operates in temperature conditions consistent with outside weather.  Frequently transition between ambient and refrigerator / freezer temperatures.  Occasional regional travel with ACFB team members may be required.
