We provide lake and pond management services, wetland restoration, and stormwater solutions to private homeowners, lake associations, golf courses, governmental entities, and many more. The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for supporting the Branch Manager in overseeing daily branch operations, field crews, customer service, sales activities, budgeting, compliance, and safety programs. This role serves as a field supervisor, ensuring projects are completed according to contract specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining strong customer relationships and supporting employee development.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management

  • Supervise field crews and daily job site activities.
  • Ensure trucks, equipment, tools, safety supplies, and required documentation are properly maintained and available.
  • Assist with workforce scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings with customers and employees.
  • Monitor contract production, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, environmental, safety, and traffic control regulations.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation.


Personnel Management

  • Assist with workforce planning and staffing needs.
  • Recruit, interview, and help select employees.
  • Conduct employee training and development programs.
  • Support employee performance management and evaluations.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies and performance expectations.
  • Recommend disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Report personnel activities and workforce updates to the Branch Manager.


Sales & Customer Service

  • Meet with prospective customers and evaluate account opportunities.
  • Support bid preparation by gathering contract history and pricing information.
  • Follow up on previous bids and existing customer accounts.
  • Attend industry and trade-related meetings.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Address customer concerns, complaints, and service issues.
  • Monitor service quality and contract compliance.
  • Manage public relations concerns and report potential liability issues.


Technical & Professional Development

  • Maintain knowledge of vegetation management practices, including grasses, weeds, brush, trees, herbicides, and spraying methods.
  • Understand spray equipment operation, calibration, and application systems.
  • Continuously develop skills in leadership, management, sales, customer service, and organization.
Requirements
  • Management experience in the vegetation management, landscaping, greens, or related industry.
  • Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Greens Industry, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with supervision, budgeting, operations management, facility management, and employee development preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
