Description

We are seeking a strategic, operationally focused Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to help lead the next phase of growth for Boulder Imaging (BI), a rapidly expanding private equity-backed machine vision technology company. BI’s solutions solve complex, mission critical challenges across a variety of end-market applications through its high-throughput software-based Vision Inspector image processing platform. BI’s technology provides high-speed real-time detection, inspection, and automated decisioning systems for customers operating in regulated and industrial environments where accuracy, reliability, and high-speed image processing capabilities are critical. The Company’s solutions focus on mission-critical use cases that are real time and require complex detection such as avian collision mitigation for onshore wind farms, high-speed banknote inspection for central banks, and automated surface and dimensional inspection for architectural building products.


The CFO serves as a key business partner to the CEO and leadership team, helping scale the organization globally while leading a world-class finance function capable of supporting rapid innovation, international expansion, and increasing operational complexity. 


The ideal candidate brings strong experience supporting high-growth technology companies, including international operations, strategic planning leadership, financial infrastructure scaling, and enterprise risk management. This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate both strategically and tactically while ensuring strong financial discipline, reporting accuracy and timeliness, and operational visibility.


The CFO will oversee all financial activities of the company, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, compliance, reporting, international finance operations, insurance, audit, and risk management. BI’s team works in-office at our headquarters in Louisville, CO.

Requirements

 Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO,  executive leadership team, and Board of Directors.
  • Lead long-range financial planning and support the company’s growth strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, sales, manufacturing, and professional services teams to align financial objectives with business priorities.
  • Support strategic initiatives including international market entry, partnerships, and capital planning.
  • Develop financial models and business analytics to support executive decision-making.

Global Expansion & International Operations

  • Lead financial planning and operational support for global expansion efforts, including opening and managing foreign      subsidiaries.
  • Partner with legal, tax, HR, and external advisors on international entity formation, transfer pricing, intercompany structures, compliance, and foreign operational setup.
  • Establish scalable financial controls and reporting processes across international operations.
  • Manage foreign currency exposure, international banking relationships, and global cash management strategies.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial performance analysis.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and operational metrics that provide actionable business insights.
  • Drive financial rigor, governance and controls, and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Provide scenario planning and financial modeling to support rapid growth and changing market conditions.
  • Manage working capital optimization to support operational efficiency.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting operations, monthly close processes, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting for executive leadership, investors, and Board reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable international accounting requirements.
  • Lead annual audits, tax coordination, and external financial and banking relationships.
  • Build and own scalable systems, policies, and internal controls appropriate for a growing technology company.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Lead enterprise risk management initiatives, including operational, financial, international, regulatory, and insurance-related risk mitigation.
  • Partner with legal and operational teams to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations.
  • Evaluate contractual, commercial, and financial risks associated with customers, vendors, and international operations.
  • Oversee corporate insurance programs and business continuity planning.

Capital & Investor Relations

  • Support capital structure and financing activities, lender relationships, and investor communications.
  • Prepare financial materials and presentations for monthly reporting packages, Board meetings, financing discussions, and      strategic transactions.
  • Assist with due diligence activities related to financing, partnerships, or acquisition opportunities.

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance and accounting organization. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. 
  • Assess organizational needs and implement systems, processes, and talent structures that support continued growth. 

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including senior executive finance roles within high-growth      technology or industrial technology environments.
  • Experience leading the finance activities within a private, rapidly growing company.
  • Demonstrated success supporting international growth.
  • Strong experience with strategic planning, operational finance, and executive decision support.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Experience managing lender, investor, audit, tax, banking, and bonding relationships.
  • Strong risk management and compliance leadership experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience within machine vision, automation, robotics, industrial technology, AI, manufacturing technology, or      software/hardware integrated environments.
  • Experience supporting global supply chains and international commercial operations.
  • Familiarity with scalable ERPs and financial systems; BI utilizes NetSuite.
  • Experience within a private equity-backed business.

Reporting Structure

The CFO reports directly to the CEO and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team. The role will routinely interact with the Board of Directors, external auditors, lenders, investors, legal counsel, and international business partners.

Compensation

Compensation package includes competitive executive salary, performance bonus opportunity, and equity participation aligned with company growth objectives.

Salary Description
$235,000.00 to $265,000.00
