We’re looking for compassionate, dependable Security Officers who can balance professionalism with empathy. In this role, you’ll help maintain a secure facility while treating every client, visitor, volunteer, and staff member with dignity and respect. You’ll be a visible presence throughout the shelter, helping prevent conflicts, responding to incidents, and supporting a calm and orderly environment.

What You’ll Do
- Help maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
- Monitor entrances, conduct routine facility rounds, and observe daily activities.
- Respond to incidents using de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed practices.
- Enforce facility policies fairly, consistently, and respectfully.
- Complete incident reports and communicate important information to supervisors and teammates.
- Work collaboratively with shelter staff to support client safety and well-being.
- Contact emergency services or law enforcement when necessary.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Dependable, professional, and accountable.
- Comfortable working evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, corrections, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- A heart for serving individuals experiencing homelessness and a commitment to treating everyone with dignity and respect.

License and Certification:
- Security license G (Required)

- Strong verbal and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures
- Ability to follow complex instructions

- Ability to deal with uncertainty
- Ability to use good judgement
- Knowledge of surveillance skills

Pay rate is based on skills and experience.
