JOB SUMMARY 

The Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, finishing, repairing, and polishing natural stone, engineered stone, and solid surface countertop materials in accordance with production specifications and quality standards. This position operates fabrication equipment and hand tools to produce high-quality finished products while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. The Fabricator works collaboratively with production team members to ensure customer orders are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with company safety and quality standards. 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are representative of the position but are not intended to be all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Fabricate, assemble, finish, sand, polish, edge, and repair natural stone, engineered stone, and solid surface countertop materials.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, work orders, templates, and fabrication specifications.
  • Measure, mark, cut, shape, and finish countertop components to meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools, including bridge saws, CNC equipment, routers, polishers, edge machines, grinders, and other production equipment.
  • Safely load, unload, and position slabs and materials using proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment.
  • Inspect finished products throughout the fabrication process to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to customer specifications.
  • Perform seam preparation, edge profiling, polishing, sanding, and finishing techniques appropriate for various countertop materials.
  • Conduct repairs, touch-ups, and final finishing as needed to meet company quality standards.
  • Maintain production equipment by performing routine cleaning, inspections, and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe manufacturing environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lockout/tagout procedures, and safe equipment operation.
  • Assist with material movement, production workflow, and other fabrication-related tasks as assigned to support operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet daily production schedules, quality expectations, and customer delivery timelines.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1 year of polishing experience is preferred.
  • Ability to use Moraware, or similar software preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

  • Standing for sustained periods.
  • Bending or stooping continuously for up to 6 hours.
  • Ability to lift, push, and carry up to 75 lbs unassisted.
  • Crouching and bending of the body downward and forward.
  • Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, fingers (pinch, grasp).
  • Ability to understand and distinguish speech and workplace sounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Field/Warehouse/Fabrication shop environment.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment required for the job.
  • Exposure to machinery, material handling equipment, dust, and noise.
