Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Description

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and supporting all shipping and receiving activities within the company. This role oversees the receipt, storage, movement, packaging, and shipment of materials and products, ensuring inventory accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with company procedures. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk monitors shipments from receipt through final delivery, resolves shipping issues, and maintains an organized warehouse environment to support manufacturing and customer service goals.

Requirements
  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, inspecting shipments, registering received goods, and distributing packages and correspondence within the company.
  • Maintain the warehouse and stockroom by organizing, cleaning, labeling, and cataloging inventory and materials on a regular basis.
  • Schedule inbound and outbound shipments and coordinate logistics activities to ensure adequate storage capacity, proper staffing, and efficient material flow.
  • Maintain accurate records of all goods shipped and received, preparing shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics reports as required by management.
  • Ensure compliance with company environmental management systems, policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, carrier issues, damaged shipments, and customer complaints related to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Receive, package, move, store, and transfer materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required.
  • Verify shipping documentation, including packing slips, bills of lading, freight paperwork, and inventory transactions, for accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with regular cycle counts and physical inventory activities to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Communicate in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner with employees, customers, vendors, carriers, and other business partners.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture through collaboration, active participation, continuous improvement, and constructive communication.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, operating procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory control, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory software, and shipping systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of shipping documentation, inventory control practices, and warehouse safety standards

Physical Work/Enviroment Requirements

  • Position in a warehouse environment and requires the use of various types of equipment (heavy machinery, forklifts, computers, etc.)
  • Requires light to heavy lifting
  • Requires continuous standing and walking
