Description

Binghamton's position within the Southern Tier provides access to a wide range of transportation, bridge, and infrastructure improvement projects, creating opportunities for engineers who want hands-on involvement in the design and delivery of critical structural components.


As a member of Fisher's precast engineering team, you'll support the development of concrete solutions that help transportation and infrastructure projects move efficiently from concept through construction.


This role offers the chance to strengthen your structural engineering skills, collaborate with experienced professionals, and contribute to projects that directly impact communities across New York and the Northeast.


What You'll Do

  • Execute precast engineering and design assignments for civil and structural projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop structurally sound, cost-effective, and visually appealing precast concrete designs.
  • Perform structural analysis and engineering calculations to evaluate performance under various loading conditions.
  • Select materials and components that meet project requirements for strength, durability, and sustainability.
  • Prepare accurate drawings, plans, and specifications that align with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Support project cost estimating efforts for precast materials and components.
  • Assist Project Managers and Designers throughout project development and support QA/QC processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 0-5 years minimum transportation and/or structural engineering experience.
  • EIT certification or the ability to obtain it.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in RISA 3D.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work and solve problems using critical thinking and sound engineering judgment.
  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of assigned work.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Adaptability and commitment to continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Concrete design engineering coursework.
  • Concrete design engineering experience.

Compensation + Benefits

Salary range: $72,000-$85,000

  • Competitive compensation; actual pay varies based on experience, qualifications, education, and other factors and excludes the value of benefits.

This role is aligned to the Binghamton, NY market due to its concentration of transportation infrastructure projects, public-sector investment, and structural engineering activity. Fisher may also consider strong candidates located near Albany, NY based on project needs, client alignment, team growth priorities, and business development opportunities.
