Description
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for managing and curating content across social media platforms to build brand awareness, engage with customers, and drive traffic and leads to the dealership. This role involves developing social media strategies, creating engaging content, and analyzing performance to optimize social media campaigns.
Time and Days of Position:
Monday - Friday and some Saturdays as needed (5 minimum per year)
9 AM - 5:30 PM
Pay to commensurate upon experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Develop and execute daily social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, and others to build brand awareness and engage with the dealership’s audience
- Curate and create engaging content, including images, videos, and written posts, to promote dealership services, vehicles, promotions, and events
- Monitor social media accounts, respond to customer inquiries, and engage with followers to foster a positive online community
- Track and analyze social media performance using tools like Google Analytics and platform-specific insights to assess the effectiveness of campaigns and make recommendations for improvements
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media strategies with overall dealership marketing goals and objectives
- Stay up to date on social media trends, platform updates, and emerging tools to ensure the dealership stays competitive in its online presence
- Coordinate paid social media campaigns, including boosting posts, managing budgets, and tracking performance
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all social media channels to support the dealership’s voice and image
- Ensure that delivery photos are posted daily
- Maintain social media accounts for assigned stores on specified platforms
- Post 3 times per week on assigned accounts (minimum of 2 videos per week per store; include appropriate hashtags)
- Abide by OEM and Bert Ogden Corporate advertising guidelines
- Audit accounts daily for inappropriate comments, errors, etc.
- Complete a whiteboard schedule of events and weekly social media links form on a weekly basis
- Take photos and videos of vehicles, customers, staff members, etc.
- Appear on camera for various photos and videos including TV commercials as needed
- Travel to various stores around Rio Grande Valley
- Positively represent Bert Ogden both on and off the clock
- Meet and greet Bert Ogden guests
- Communicate regularly with fellow social media coordinators, videographers and marketing staff and upper-level management
- Secure locations for filming away from dealerships
- Set up lights and mics for filming when necessary
- Work closely with general managers and sales individuals of assigned stores to create focused content for specific vehicles
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong written and visual communication skills with the ability to create engaging content
- Proficiency in social media management tools and platform
- Analytical skills to assess campaign performance and provide actionable insights
- Creativity and adaptability in managing multiple social media channels and responding to trends
- Basic knowledge of photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Attention to detail

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in social media management or digital marketing. Experience in the automotive industry is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on computers and managing social media platforms
- Occasional standing and walking may be required during dealership events and promotions
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times
- Occasional lifting, standing, crawling, reaching, use of stairs
- Occasional attendance at social gatherings
- Ability to travel
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Texas Driver's License
