Description

The Administrative Assistant to the School Principal provides administrative support of departmental day to day operations, data input, scheduling and communications. 


ABOUT RCS:

Resurrection Christian School is a private, non-denominational Christian college-preparatory school located in Loveland, Colorado. Founded in 1998 by Rez.Church, Resurrection Christian School serves students from Pre-K through 12th grade. RCS is the largest Christian school in Northern Colorado, serving nearly 900 families from 19 communities over a 25-mile radius. School enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year is approximately 1,350 students. RCS is fully accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI); AdvancED.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communications

• Answer and screen phone calls and address basic related questions, forward callers to the appropriate individual when necessary.

• Assist with calendar maintenance and meeting/appointment scheduling for the School Principal.

• Assist with calendar planning and scheduling for staff meetings and school events.

• Create and distribute communications to staff, students, parents/guardians.

• Create and distribute event programs, department forms, handouts, mailers and necessary signage.

• Create slides for announcements for the electronic display on screens.

• Set up and schedule teacher evaluation meetings and classroom observations.

• Monitor and generate classroom and staff radio communications.


Data Maintenance

• Input, manage and maintain the student/family data base.


Customer Service

• Maintain an excellent working knowledge of all policies, procedures and handbooks of RCS.

• Maintain professional and effective relationships with all RCS staff, board members, and families.

• Assist parents/guardians with basic/general questions regarding student and school events, activities, issues, etc. Forward on parents/guardians to School Principal or Dean of Students when necessary.

• Assist School RN and Health Aide with ill students. Call parents/guardians concerning the students condition.


Office Management

• Coordinate with other RCS office staff and outside vendors in ordering materials and products for school activities and events.

• Manage monies coming in and going out for and from school activities.

• Schedule and book travel arrangements for principal and staff.

• Order curriculum materials, office supplies, furniture, etc. and distribute to appropriate classrooms.

• Skilled at customer service including attentive and active listening with all staff, students, parent/guardians and community members.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of the rules and regulations set forth by the Colorado Board of Education and ACSI Practices in Christian Schools.

• Knowledge of operating personal computers, peripherals and typical office equipment.

• Knowledge of educational/instructional technology equipment and programs.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other department related software packages.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Compensation Range: $17-18.50/hr

All employees working 30 or more hours per work week are considered full-time and eligible to receive the benefits listed in the Benefits section. Benefits are available the first day of the month following the hire date.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

A High School diploma or equivalent is required. Two to three years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Sheets and Google Documents and a database software program preferred.


Must have a cheerful, positive, and outgoing personality. As well as have excellent planning skills, be highly organized and detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and able to adapt to changing environments and priorities. Be a self-starter with the ability to work productively and meet goals in a timely fashion. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills are required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Administrative Assistant position requires intermittent physical activity including standing, walking, bending kneeling, stooping, crouching and lifting up to 40lbs on occasion. Must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must possess normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
