Hiring Range: $32.00 - $36.80

Salary Range: $32.00 - $41.60

Sherwood Community Services is seeking a talented and passionate Grant Writer to join our Development & Partnership team. This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional writer who enjoys research, storytelling, and building compelling proposals that create meaningful impact.

As our Grant Writer, you will play a vital role in securing funding that supports programs and services for children and adults with disabilities throughout our community. What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
  • Evaluate funding opportunities that align with Sherwood's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive grant calendar with proposal and reporting deadlines.
  • Write persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with program leaders, finance staff, and leadership to gather information, budgets, outcomes, and success stories.
  • Prepare timely grant reports and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  • Track grants from submission through award management and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records within the organization's CRM or grant tracking system.
  • Collect program data and outcomes to strengthen future funding proposals.
  • Support development initiatives, donor communications, and fundraising campaigns as needed.

Requirements

 

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Experience working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit budgeting and program evaluation.
  • Experience using CRM or grant management software is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
