Housekeeper Supervisor

As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you'll provide leadership, organization, and hands-on support to ensure our housekeeping operations run efficiently while maintaining the high standards our residents deserve.


Working closely with the Director of Facilities, you'll oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, supervise and support staff, coordinate schedules, and help maintain a clean, safe, and inviting residential community. This position combines leadership responsibilities with active participation in daily housekeeping duties.


What You'll Do

As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you'll oversee the daily housekeeping operations while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming residential community. Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily work of the housekeeping team to ensure quality standards and operational needs are met.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, training, and ongoing support to housekeeping staff while promoting a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Develop, maintain, and update housekeeping schedules using Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and other computer applications.
  • Conduct routine quality inspections and provide feedback to ensure consistent cleanliness throughout the community.
  • Respond professionally to resident and staff concerns, resolving issues promptly and escalating concerns when appropriate.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and products while ensuring proper storage, safe handling, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist with the maintenance and organization of housekeeping equipment to ensure it remains in safe working condition.
  • Perform hands-on housekeeping duties as needed, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet care, trash removal, dusting, polishing, restroom cleaning, window and glass cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, changing linens, and maintaining common areas.
  • Ensure hallways, lobbies, laundry facilities, community rooms, offices, restrooms, and other shared spaces remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Identify, document, and report maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate department.
  • Comply with all Bethany Community Services policies and procedures while promoting a safe and clean work environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficiency using computers, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to train, motivate, and support team members while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment, and the safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to follow and provide direction effectively.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25–30 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts, furniture, cleaning equipment, and vacuums throughout the workday.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stretch, reach, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to use a computer and standard office software as part of daily job responsibilities.
