About the Role
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support our financial close and reporting processes in a fast-paced, data-driven environment. This role will assist with key aspects of the monthly close, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across the organization.
You will work closely with the Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, and Finance partners to deliver timely and accurate financial information, support internal controls, and contribute to process improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under the direction of senior accounting staff
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for review by senior team members
- Assist with reconciling subledger activity to general ledger balances; identify discrepancies and escalate to senior staff for resolution
- Support variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts as directed
- Assist with the preparation of financial reporting deliverables for management and corporate reporting, including segment-level support
- Assist with posting payroll-related journal entries in NetSuite under the guidance of senior accounting staff
- Support general ledger accounting by preparing documentation and audit-ready support for transactions
- Maintain documentation of accounting processes and support adherence to internal controls and company policies
- Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects as needed
- Support senior team members in identifying opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–4 years of accounting experience in public accounting or industry
- Hands-on experience or coursework in account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses
- Exposure to payroll accounting processes and related journal entries
- Basic working knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or actively pursuing CPA licensure
- Master's degree in Accounting or a business-related field, or completion of 150 credit hours toward CPA licensure
- Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
- Experience working in a high-volume, data-driven or technology-enabled business
- Internship or entry-level experience in a corporate accounting environment

Compensation:
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $75,000–$85,000. Actual compensation may vary based on work experience, education, and skill level.
