Safety Management Group is seeking a local Construction Coordinator in Boston, Massachusetts.

The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel.

Overview of Job Responsibilities: 
  • Schedule and coordinate construction work activities; issue work permits and ensure work is executed safely and according to project requirements.
  • Coordinate contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with site safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections and identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, pre-task planning sessions, and contractor orientations.
  • Track and follow up on corrective actions, safety observations, incidents, and compliance issues.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between construction, safety, and project teams to communicate expectations and resolve field issues.
Requirements
  • Construction/Management Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of construction project management experience
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Construction cost estimating and scheduling experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Proficient in MS Project (ability to create, update, and manage schedules)
  • Ability to work weekends and provide evening coverage
  • Experience managing civil and mechanical construction projects


Physical Demands of the job may include:

  • Moving about long distances
  • Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Being exposed to loud noises
  • Wearing personal protective gear correctly
