Description
Position Summary:
This administrative work is responsible for coordinating religious services, programs, and volunteer services. The employee in this department assists with the spiritual needs of individuals served and staff.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the duties of designated Volunteer Chaplains.
- Stays in regular contact with volunteers, chaplains, and mentors. Keeps an ongoing spreadsheet of contact information on all volunteers.
- Prays regularly for the staff and individuals served of Agape.
- Leads an ongoing Bible study for the individuals served/families that are interested.
- Meet with individuals served whenever individual has a spiritual need or when an individual needs to talk and their therapist is not available. Is responsible for communicating with the Residential Manager any concerns regarding an individual's emotional stability.
- Helps to coordinate the calendar of events and keeps Residential Supervisor and immediate supervisor up-to-date on all upcoming events within a reasonable timeframe.
- Continually works towards creating partnerships with local churches. These partnerships can include churches coming to Agape and providing services OR could be a partnership that allows individuals served to visit the church on a regular basis, in hopes of getting the individual served to become a connected part of that church body.
- Coordinates the English and Spanish speakers/pastors for the weekly Sunday services in the Agape Chapel.
- Corresponds regularly with volunteers and interested parties the ongoing needs of the individuals served and of Agape.
- Meets with any of the Agape staff when they need spiritual counseling and/or prayer.
- Leads a weekly 15-minute noontime devotional for staff or finds guest speakers to do so.
- Researches faith-based community resources for a greater variety of faith-based services for Agape individuals served.
- Finds resources (e.g., toys, gifts) from the community to assist individuals served.
- With the assistance of the Chaplain, documents all events and outcomes to provide a quarterly report for board meetings.
- Completes DCF trainings and all other annual required trainings, as per agency's guidelines.
- Performs other duties as appropriately and assigned.
Requirements
Education and/ or Experience:
Must love the Lord Jesus Christ - and His people - and be properly trained and experienced in sharing the Gospel. Must be willing and able to always properly represent Agape and its mission of Agape love and restoration.
