Toledo Tool & Die is adding Tool & Die Maker – Jig & Fixture (Assembly Cells) to our team to support our continued growth.

The hours for this position is are typically:
- 1st shift: Monday-Friday, 6AM-2PM
- MUST be willing to work overtime/weekends/holidays as needed

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Tool & Die / Jig & Fixture Maker is responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the jigs, fixtures, gauges, weld/assembly tooling, and die details used in the assembly cells. This role ensures tooling is safe, reliable, and capable of meeting production, quality, and delivery requirements in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Build, assemble, modify, and repair jigs, fixtures, gauges, weld/assembly tooling, and die details for the assembly cells
- Diagnose tooling issues and perform root cause analysis on tooling- and fixture-related defects, downtime, or quality concerns
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on jigs, fixtures, weld tooling, and die details per established schedules
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, CAD drawings/models, fixture and die layouts, and specifications
- Machine tooling components using manual and CNC equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, etc.)
- Set up and try out fixtures and tooling in the assembly cells; make tooling adjustments to achieve part quality dimensional accuracy, and process capability
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams during new program launches and tooling changes, and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure tooling meets customer, print, and IATF 16949 quality requirements
- Maintain accurate tooling maintenance and repair documentation
- Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, and shop safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling performance, uptime, and cost reduction
- Assist with external tool builds, modifications, and tooling vendors as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to take direction, coaching, and act positively to improve performance.
- Assumes additional duties as assigned, which may fall outside the primary scope of the role.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent experience
Preferred Requirements:
- 5+ years of Tool & Die, jig & fixture, or weld/assembly tooling experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Automotive supplier experience a plus
- Welding, fabrication, or machining skills.
- Forklift, crane, or lift equipment certification (or willingness to obtain).
