Position Overview
Vision Quest Solutions (VQS) is seeking experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurses to support Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC), an Indian Health Service facility serving the Hopi Reservation in northeastern Arizona.
This travel assignment offers the opportunity to practice full-scope emergency nursing in a Critical Access Hospital while providing high-quality care to Native American communities. The Emergency Department RN will assess, stabilize, treat, and monitor patients of all ages while collaborating with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform emergency nursing assessments and triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI).
- Assess, monitor, and treat adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients presenting with medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments.
- Assist physicians during trauma resuscitations, cardiac events, and emergency procedures.
- Operate cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and other emergency equipment.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment, medications, and discharge instructions.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Emergency Department experience required.
- Ability to meet federal credentialing and background requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- TNCC certification.
- Previous Indian Health Service, Tribal Health, VA, or federal healthcare experience.
- Prior travel nursing experience.
- Critical Access Hospital or rural emergency department experience.
