We are hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to be a staff development and training coordinator. The RN develops, coordinates, facilitates, tracks, and evaluates staff training and education to ensure quality care delivery and appropriate action within the company’s contracted scope of services, policies and procedures, Nurse Practice Act, and contract requirements. The Registered Nurse will address health service provision by providing staff training and direct intervention to meet the health care needs of the individuals receiving services. The RN must be willing to flex schedule and travel to all sites to meet the needs of the individuals served and to appropriately support staff and program operations. The Registered Nurse works in collaboration with Operations, Health Services, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal and other departments as necessary to ensure complete and timely education and training of all Georgia crisis staff.

General Responsibilities:
- Conducts and/or organizes trainings for Corrective Action Plans for CARF audits, Audits, CIRs, etc.
- Facilitates the scheduling, coordination and delivery of new employee orientation training and education.
- Attends new staff orientations on site to teach courses, coordinate other instructors, and oversee orientation process.
- Develops and facilitates trainings that meet all internal and external standards and requirements for specific service areas, programs and personnel.
- Complete train the trainer CPI instructor course, conducts Crisis Prevention Institute initial certification and recertification trainings as needed by staff
- Work with Nurse Managers and Directors to determine training needs and development.
- Choose appropriate training methods: simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, competency based, etc., for selected subject matter and audience.
- Design and prepare educational materials and aids for ensuring optimal health and safety for individuals served.
- Design and apply assessment tools to measure training effectiveness.
- Maintain updated curriculum database, tracking CEUs and training hours, and training records.
- Coordinate with Human Resources and Directors, Managers and Supervisors to ensure all staff training requirements are scheduled, delivered and documented in a timely manner.
- Maintain updated curriculum database and training records.
- Provide train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts.
- Manage and maintain in-house materials, resources and equipment for training needs.
- Maintain all certifications and licenses required to provide orientation classes as assigned.
- Reports to work as scheduled.
- Provide registered nurse healthcare coordination and direct intervention, as needed, for designated individuals as assigned.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
- Valid unrestricted Nursing License to practice nursing in the state of Georgia
- Certification as a Crisis Prevention Instructor and ongoing training in crisis intervention curriculum.
- Valid State Driver’s License and auto insurance.
- Must be computer literate.
- Two years of experience as a CPI Instructor
- Two years of experience training of Healthcare Materials
- Maintains certifications and licensure.
Preferred:
- Five years of experience in training
- Five years of experience as CPI Instructor
- Five years of experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Illness.
- Five years registered nurse experience
