Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees all back and front of the house opening/closing procedures.
  • Handles all call-outs and works to find a replacement for the shift if needed.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and stocked environment.
  • Establishes effective and positive communication amongst all team members.
  • Assists Prepared Food Manager in planning and executing all sale promotions effectively and efficiently.
  • Establish Standard Operating Procedures for the Café and uphold them in the café.
  • Ensures all team members follow the standard operating procedures and checklist and held accountable when not completed.
  • Responds positively to customer situations.
  • Constantly monitors, coaches and encourages team members to meet the company’s standards.
  • Works alongside Assistant Prepared Foods Manager and Prepared Foods Manager to develop innovative menu items.
  • Tastes products on a per shift basis for quality assurance.
  • Ensures employees are following all company drink and smoothie recipes to maintain high level of satisfaction and constancy.  
  • Provides attentive, timely, and friendly service to all internal and external customers at all times.
  • Leads quarterly meetings with service and kitchen lead staff.
  • Promotes and practices safe work habits and reports potential safety hazards.
  • Monitor compliance with health regulations regarding food preparation and serving.
  • Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the products and services offered by the co-op.
  • Provides attentive, timely, and friendly service to all internal and external customers at all times.
  • Others duties as assigned.
Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year’s experience in a retail environment strongly preferred. 
  • A minimum of one (1) year’s experience and familiarity with natural foods strongly preferred.
  • Supports the co-op’s core values and aligns with the Co-op Code of Conduct.
  • Adapts readily based on evolving co-op needs or in response to feedback.
  • Maintains composure in highly stressful or adverse situations.
  • Computer proficiency, familiarity with MS Office Suite, and experience with receiving systems preferred.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Flexibility to work any shift, including mornings, middays, evenings, weekends.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures (approximately 20°F – 90°F).
  • Ability to stand or sit for long periods at a time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and climb.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Reliable access to transportation.
Salary Description
$19-$26/hr
