Full Time Before/After School Site Coordinator - Swallow School District

 Location: On-Site at School-Based Program 

This position will support before and after programs for Pre-K and School Aged students at Swallow Elementary School.


Reports To: Area Director 


Schedule: This position will have an average of 35 hours/week, including hours directly supporting our before/after school programs - hours will be discussed in further detail in the interview process


Pay: $23-28/hour, based on experience and education


Position Overview 

The Head Coach serves as the leader of an after-school program site, creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children. This hands-on leadership role combines youth development, staff supervision, program operations, and relationship building with families and school partners. 


The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about helping children build confidence, resilience, and life skills. 


Key Responsibilities 

Program Leadership 

  • Lead daily program operations and ensure a positive experience for students. 
  • Facilitate engaging enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character-building activities. 
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment. 
  • Manage student attendance, transitions, and dismissal procedures. 

Team Development 

  • Supervise and support site staff. 
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members. 
  • Lead staff meetings and promote a positive team culture. 

Family & School Partnerships 

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and school personnel. 
  • Communicate program updates, successes, and student needs. 
  • Represent the organization professionally within the school community. 

Safety & Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies. 
  • Maintain accurate program records and documentation. 
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns. 

Qualifications 

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to lead staff while actively engaging with children. 
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 

State Requirements:

Candidates must be 21 years old and have 240 hours of experience as a school-aged program leader, public/private school teacher, student teacher, coach, mentor, etc.


In addition to above, candidates must meet one of the following requirements:

  • An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • The Registry Child Care Administrator Credential
  • The Registry Afterschool & Youth Development Credential
  • 48 credits with at least 2 credits in school-age child growth/development
  • 12 credits in leadership, management, education, physical ed, community health, psychology, social work, recreation, etc.
  • An educator license issued by the WI Dept. of Public Instruction or the authority in another state to work as a K-12 Teacher


Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
