As a Pizza Cook, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional artisan pizzas while maintaining our commitment to quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook pizzas according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Prepare pizza dough, sauces, toppings, and ingredients following company standards.
- Work with 100% organic ingredients and responsibly sourced products while maintaining our commitment to clean, high-quality food.
- Monitor oven temperatures and cooking times to ensure consistently outstanding results.
- Maintain proper food handling, storage, labeling, and rotation using FIFO practices.
- Ensure every pizza meets quality standards for appearance, texture, flavor, and consistency.
- Assist with daily food preparation, station setup, inventory organization, and restocking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift.
- Minimize food waste through proper preparation, portion control, and product utilization.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Work collaboratively with chefs and fellow team members to provide an exceptional guest experience.
- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned.
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has previous experience preparing pizzas in a restaurant, pizzeria, or high-volume kitchen preferred.
- Has experience stretching dough by hand and working with artisan or scratch-made pizza (preferred).
- Is passionate about fresh, organic, and high-quality ingredients.
- Works efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining attention to detail.
- Takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality food.
- Understands food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
- Is dependable, punctual, and committed to excellence.
- Is able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an organic, farm-to-table, scratch kitchen, or artisan pizzeria.
- Passion for clean ingredients, seasonal cooking, and handcrafted food.
- Culinary education or equivalent professional kitchen experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, kneel, and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced kitchen with exposure to heat, cold, steam, humidity, and commercial cooking equipment.
- Ability to safely operate pizza ovens, mixers, dough equipment, knives, and other kitchen tools.
- Sufficient manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to prepare food safely and efficiently.
- Ability to climb a step stool or ladder when necessary.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings to safely perform essential job duties.
