Location: On-Site at School-Based Program - Highline Academy SE, Denver, CO


Reports To: Area Director 


Schedule: Part-Time (Before & After School, School Breaks, and Summer Programs) 

Monday-Friday: 6:30AM-8AM and 3:20PM-6PM

We are looking for candidates who are available to work both shifts all five days of the week. We cannot accommodate partial shifts.


Pay: $23-29/hour, based on experience and region 


Position Overview 

The Head Coach serves as the leader of an after-school program site, creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for children. This hands-on leadership role combines youth development, staff supervision, program operations, and relationship building with families and school partners. 


The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about helping children build confidence, resilience, and life skills. 


Key Responsibilities 

Program Leadership 

  • Lead daily program operations and ensure a positive experience for students. 
  • Facilitate engaging enrichment, academic support, recreation, and character-building activities. 
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming program environment. 
  • Manage student attendance, transitions, and dismissal procedures. 

Team Development 

  • Supervise and support site staff. 
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members. 
  • Lead staff meetings and promote a positive team culture. 

Family & School Partnerships 

  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and school personnel. 
  • Communicate program updates, successes, and student needs. 
  • Represent the organization professionally within the school community. 

Safety & Compliance 

  • Ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and company policies. 
  • Maintain accurate program records and documentation. 
  • Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and behavioral concerns. 

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience in education, childcare, youth development, recreation, or a related field. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to lead staff while actively engaging with children. 
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Human Services, or a related field preferred. 

State Requirements:

All candidates should be 21 years old or over and meet one of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Child Development, Psychology, Child Psychology, Family & Human Development or similar
  •  Associate degree/60 college credits + 455 hours in childcare 
  •  Verified 5,460 hours plus 6 credit hours or 40 director training hours 
  • Early Childhood Professional Credential of Level 2 or higher

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout program hours. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally.
