SUMMARY:
VadaTech, Inc. is a world leader in the design and manufacture of embedded computing solutions. Due to continued growth, we are seeking candidates for the Mechanical Drafter position. In this role, the Mechanical Drafter operates a Computer-Aided Design (CAD) system, including creating, updating, and modifying complex electromechanical devices and systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To ensure the quality of the technical product documentation by ensuring that all drawings are produced in accordance with both published national /international standards and company design standards in a timely fashion within the program release schedule.
- Contribute to the identification of any shortcomings and recommend /propose solutions.
- Check and approve engineering drawings from the points of view of technical completeness, clarity, conformance with standards, dimensional accuracy, and the correct specification of material and processes.
- Check and approve tolerance stack analysis for technical completeness and correctness.
- Assist the departmental manager with promoting and developing a generally higher level of engineering drawing, GD&T, and tolerance stack analysis across the team through one-to-one mentoring and group training activities where required.
- Provide oversight of detailed, accurate, and comprehensive technical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with engineers to translate designs into precise 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Participate in reviews, identify and correct design and documentation errors, and provide valuable insights for product improvement.
- Maintain and update product documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Proficiently use PDM systems and ECOs for document management and version control.
- Assist in the development of bills of materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience working with SolidWorks, with a strong proficiency in creating complex assemblies and drawings, with a minimum of 5 years preparing drawings to ASME Y14.100 (or equivalent).
- Exceptional detail-oriented and examination-oriented skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Skilled in the application and understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994), preferably at least GDTP Technologist level or broadly equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience with ‘Worst Case’ stack-up tolerance analysis, including the impact of GD&T.
- Proficient in using Product Data Management (PDM) systems for document control and standard office productivity tools
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to explain drawing changes, standards requirements, and represent documentation requirements at meetings, etc.
- Familiarity with common manufacturing processes, preferably with knowledge of DFMA principles.
- Internal candidates should have a proven track record of complying with relevant company policies and procedures.

- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to handle and lift objects weighing at least 25 lbs.
