ABOUT THE POSITION AND OUR TEAM:
Our Product team is focused on turning supply chain clients into raving fans. We're hiring a Product Owner to focus on the demand forecasting and planning module of our supply chain planning software - developing and executing a roadmap that makes complex problems simple and delivers value fast.
You'll be the voice of the customer, ensuring the product solves real problems and drives business outcomes. If you've worked in demand forecasting or planning, think in systems, and regularly ask "there's got to be a better way to do this" - this role is for you.
The Product Owner reports to the Director of Product Management and works closely with development and UI/UX to build the right product, and craft the positioning to launch it, both internally and externally. You'll work day-to-day within a squad made up of engineers, QA, and UX - planning, building, and shipping together as one team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Strategy
- Surface the exceptions planners need to manage and build visibility that creates trust in the forecasting logic
- Translate demand planners' day-to-day work into clear requirements
- Own and refine the backlog priorities, balancing long-term vision with short-term iteration
- Distinguish must-haves from nice-to-haves
- Work with customers and internal stakeholders to understand issues and workflow nuances for demand planners
- Collaborate with UI/UX on intuitive, low-friction workflows
- Support go-to-market readiness - demo and position new functionality
- Monitor post-launch adoption and measure improvements in accuracy, time savings, or decision quality
AI-Enabled
- Actively use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate repetitive tasks without outsourcing your thinking and judgement
- Evaluate AI output critically - know when a decision needs a human vs. when it can be automated
Delivery
- Manage the backlog: high-level canvases plus detailed stories and requirements for active work
- Write concise user stories and acceptance criteria grounded in real use cases
- Follow agile ceremonies (planning, estimation, retro, standup)
- Partner with development and QA to prioritize, review, and accept work as a squad
- Validate assumptions and gather feedback from customers throughout the lifecycle, including on mockups and beta
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- BA/BS or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+ years hands-on experience in demand forecasting, planning, and new product introduction/lifecycle
- Experience using commercial demand forecasting/planning software day-to-day (not just Excel)
- Strong technical aptitude - comfortable learning how systems work and exploring data to inform decisions
- Excellent communication skills; can explain complex ideas simply
- Curiosity, problem-solving instinct, and empathy for the end user
- Able to prioritize, multitask, and make clear decisions in a fast-moving environment
Nice to have:
- Understanding of how AI/ML-assisted model selection works; can evaluate forecast recommendations critically
- Familiarity with statistical vs. ML forecasting models and when each fits mid-market planning teams
- Product management, ownership, or BA experience
