The Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of the Middlebury production facility, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. The primary focus is managing the preventative maintenance program, coordinating vendors and contractors, maintaining regulatory and food safety compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Facilities & Maintenance Coordinator will spend the majority of their time supporting production operations through preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, facility inspections, repairs, and documentation. This position is expected to proactively identify opportunities for improvement, anticipate maintenance needs before they impact operations, and take ownership of maintaining a safe, organized, and reliable facility.
Schedule is Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Starting wage $27/hour
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of facility or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Manufacturing or food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems.
- Experience managing preventative maintenance programs, maintenance records, and contractor relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment, prioritize work, and make sound decisions with minimal day-to-day direction.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/MMS).
- Knowledge of OSHA workplace safety requirements; familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and SQF standards preferred.
- Experience coordinating capital projects or facility improvements is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, vendors, management, and Property Management.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
