Director of Lending Sales
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Lending and Sales to lead our credit union’s sales and lending team. This multi-dimensional role offers an exciting opportunity to drive growth, enhance member satisfaction, and strengthen our community presence. The ideal candidate will first establish a proactive sales culture in the lending department and then eventually grow and develop into an ideal candidate for our lending department's succession needs. They will be expected to bring proven experience in financial services, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding member service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the sales and lending team to ensure high performance and professional development.
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed growth targets for the credit union’s loan and deposit products.
- Oversee the lending process, including loan origination, underwriting, approval, and portfolio management, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with members, community partners, and referral sources to expand the credit union’s reach.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for growth and product development.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare reports for senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to credit union policies, risk management standards, and regulatory guidelines across all lending activities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred, (or equivalent experience)
- 5-10+ years of progressive experience in lending, with strong emphasis on sales leadership
- Proven experience in sales leadership and lending within a financial institution, preferably a credit union.
- Strong understanding of credit products, underwriting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze financial data and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing sales strategies that drive growth.
- Knowledge of credit union systems and lending software is a plus.
