Job Summary

Provide strategy and policy analysis support to the MARCENT Plans and Policy Directorate (G-5), ensuring MARCENT strategy and policy is aligned with Combatant Command, Service, and National-level guidance. 


Specific Responsibilities

  • Support development of the command's strategy, policy, campaign plans, posture plans, programs, and requirements 
  • Maintain contact with, monitor development of, and review CENTCOM, Joint, and Service-level doctrine for component-level approval and compliance 
  • Develop assessments, information papers, and briefs; facilitate coordination between staff sections and action officers 
  • Write component-level information and position papers on Joint and HQMC strategy and concept development topics 
  • Assist in development of Executive Off-Site (EOS), CENTCOM Commander's Conference (CCC), and additional component-level presentations for COMUSMARCENT 
  • Participate in internal MARCENT Operational Planning Teams and working groups 
Requirements

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant strategy/policy analysis experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (Master's degree preferred) 
  • Strong understanding of Joint and Service strategy/policy development processes 
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required 
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills 


Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a standard office environment at MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida. Must be able to sit, stand, and use computer equipment for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally. 


Travel

Occasional travel required to support strategy/policy conferences and offsites.
