The Warehouse Supervisor will provide daily leadership and oversight for our Receiving, Put-away, Warehousing, Picking and Dispatching processes and warehouse personnel. The main objectives for this position are: To ensure inventory is accurately maintained in insight and physically well preserved and cared for, warehouse employees are following standard work for all processes, and all of the needed daily kits for production are dispatched to the plant on time each day. 


Responsibilities

  

  • Provide daily leadership and direction to the warehouse team for supporting all processes. 
  • Be a key point of contact for exceptions and for urgent situations that need resolution quickly. 
  • Support the C.A.R.E values of the organization.
  • Ensure that all requests for materials sent over from the plant are captured, prioritized, assigned and actioned within the specific times needed for each department requesting the materials.
  • Provide daily/weekly scheduling for the driver and transportation of raw materials between our off-site warehouse      (Ambassador), our Barnes Rd warehouse, and our production facility. 
  • Ensure that materials are prepped, loaded and delivered to the plant on a highly routine delivery basis/schedule as defined by what the plant needs each day on time and in good condition.
  • Ensure that inbound materials are reviewed for any freight damage. 
  • Ensure receipts are generated in Insight on a daily basis for all items received. If not, receipts must be back dated to the actual date received. 
  • Ensure each team member is picking/kitting items according to agreed processes and schedules.
  • Evaluate and rebalance work assignments to ensure all work is balanced across warehouse team members. 
  • Ensure all team members are cross trained for all responsibilities in the warehouse.
  • Ensure weekly cycle counts and monthly physical inventory counts are prepped completed as needed. 
  • Ensure all materials are scanned in and out of the warehouse.      
  • Evaluate the current warehouse organization and develop a more efficient organization layout with the Supply Chain Manager. 
  • Provide potential material shortage or exceptions information to the Supply Chain Manager 
  • Manage the material releases from the off-site warehouse (Ambassador) and transact material transfers in Insight.
  • Coordinate replenishment of CTS stock from Executive Cabinetry directly.
  • Adhere and enforce all safety policies of department and of the company.
  • Assist in training and development of team members including evaluating and coaching. 
  • Implementing operation policies and procedures as needed to maximize efficiency
  • Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
  • Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities. 
  • Maintain a high accuracy percentage of warehouse perpetual inventory.
  • Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of fleet vehicles. 
  • Assisting with deliveries where required. 
  • Perform other duties as required. 
Requirements
  • BS in Manufacturing, Business or a related required; advanced degree or professional manufacturing certification(s) preferred
  • 5+ years leadership experience with a large manufacturing organization 
  • Proven track record of building a team, supervising change, streamlining processes and driving safety, quality, delivery and cost improvements 
  • Strong working knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles; furniture industry experience preferred 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.


Working Relationship

Communication is required across all levels of the organization- executive team, other functional leaders, subordinates and production floor workers. The Warehouse Supervisor works under the immediate supervision of the Supply Chain Manager.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift/move in excess of 50 lbs. at a time  
  • Stand, walk, stoop, and perform motions for an extended period 

PPE

Safety glasses, ear plugs, and safety shoes are required. Other PPE may be required depending on the role.


Safety

This position expects to adhere to all safety rules to include the use of all require protective personal equipment (PPE). Specifically, eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times while in the production floor.

Non-air-conditioned environments; hazardous materials such paints, stains and solvents; machinery, conveyors, spray-booths and drying racks.
