Job Summary


The Instructor position delivers hands-on technical and field training to skilled trades employees across both ACI and BBI. Conducts practical training sessions covering welding, fitting, pipefitting, rigging, safety, equipment operation, marine operations, and other technical skills. Works under the direction of the Lead Instructor to execute training plans, assess learner performance during practical exercises, and maintain a safe training environment. Responsibilities and Duties


· Deliver hands-on technical training sessions in assigned subject areas for both ACI and BBI employees

· Follow established training curricula, lesson plans, and assessment protocols developed by the Lead Instructor and Training Manager

· Conduct practical skills demonstrations, guided practice, and learner performance observations

· Assess trainee competency during practical exercises and document results for the LMS

· Maintain a safe training environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards

· Set up and break down training areas, equipment, and materials before and after sessions

· Report training delivery outcomes, learner progress, and any issues to the Lead Instructor

· Provide feedback to trainees on technique, safety, and areas for improvement

· Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices in assigned trade areas

· Support apprenticeship program training activities and practical competency milestones

· Maintain personal certifications and licenses required for training delivery

· Coordinate with the Technical Skills Coordinator on training logistics and scheduling

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications


• 3+ years of experience as a skilled tradesperson in welding, fitting, pipefitting, rigging, marine operations, or related field

• 1+ years of experience in training delivery, mentoring, or leading crews

• Relevant trade certifications (NCCER, AWS, OSHA, USCG) preferred

• Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly

• Patient, safety-conscious approach to instruction

• Willingness to travel between ACI and BBI locations and job sites as needed
